Kids
Erreichbare StufeN

The Ki Climbing Pass is a voluntary progression system for children and young climbers that makes learned skills visible – and rewards them. Each level is closely tied to the course content of the beginner and advanced courses: those who have mastered the skills complete the assessment stress-free as part of their regular course. With each level, new doors open – from the beginner course all the way into the Ki training groups.

Eichkatzl
Step 1The Eichkatzl is the first level and is earned during the beginner course. It shows that you have mastered the most important fundamentals of indoor climbing: you can operate the auto-belay correctly, climb and belay on toprope – including partner check, correct positioning and holding an unexpected fall. The Eichkatzl is also your ticket into the advanced course.

Gecko
Step 2The Gecko is earned during the advanced course. Now things get serious: you climb lead all the way to the top, clip all quickdraws correctly and belay your partner safely and attentively. You also demonstrate foundational bouldering technique – footwork transitions, weight shifting, hip movement and a variety of grip types. The Gecko is your ticket into the Ki training groups.

Steinbock
Stufe 3The Steinbock is the ultimate challenge – for those who want to take it one step further. It is assessed during training and demonstrates that you have truly mastered a broad movement repertoire: required difficulty grades on lead (from 5a to 6a depending on age group), independently solving standard boulder problems, as well as foundational techniques, loading directions and dynamic movements such as dynos and hip impulse. With the Steinbock, you can put yourself forward for the Alpenverein Innsbruck training groups.
